The Board of
The Commissioners met in General Session and approved and signed various resolutions, contracts and documents. The Commissioners also reviewed the calendar of events and discussed upcoming meetings.
Russ Herman, Defiance County Assistant Prosecutor met with the Commissioners for an update on various pending legal matters.
Warren Schlatter,
Defiance County Engineer, met with the Commissioners for his weekly update.
Nancy Porter,
President, and Lisa Fortner, Shelter Director, met with the Commissioners to
provide an update on the Defiance County Humane Society. During November, the Humane Society is having
a pre-holiday special with the price for cat adoptions at half the regular
price. The Humane Society has been
hosting birthday parties at no cost to the participants. The guests bring needed items for the shelter
in lieu of presents for the person the party is for. The participants are able to decorate to
room, have games and food, and are able to play with kid-friendly animals.
The Commissioners
approved the ODOT Abandonment Agreement for State Route 424. This will become effective as of 12:01 p.m.
on or about November 14, 2008. This date
is tentative and subject to the actual completion of remaining construction
items on expanded US 24. Portions of
existing State Route 424 and State Service Roads will be abandoned by the State
of
