Mapping
In the springs of 1996 and 1997 the County was flown and the aerial photos were made into a seamless digital ortho photo base for the county maps. This resulted in a computer photo base that is accurate to within five feet for the county and two and one-half feet for the city. All parcels in the county are sketched as described by the deeds of record and the parcel data information is attached to the physical location on this map. This mapping system is now serving as the required tax maps for appraisal purposes and has proven to be a useful data organizational tool. Updated aerial photos were flown in 2002, 2006, 2010, 2012 and 2016.
The Engineer's office maintains the line attributes and the Auditor's office updates the parcel information data.
This database has also been given to other departments as a base for maintaining other information specific to their needs.
