2009 City Parks Clean Up

The annual Clean up Your Park Day was held on March 14th. Jody Doyle coordinated this event in conjunction with Defiance County Environmental Services, KAB Great American Clean Up and Defiance City Parks. Individual volunteers and groups, totaling over 175 people, worked several hours cleaning up the following parks: Bronson, Kingsbury, Diehl, Latty’s Grove, Pontiac and Defiance Fort Grounds.

The Defiance City Parks Division had employee’s working at parks to grind up and mulch leaves and twigs. Other volunteers gathered up over 75 bags of litter!

Volunteers were unable to clean up Kingsbury with the recent flooding, but arrangements were made for volunteers to complete this park as well on an alternate date.
