2014 City Parks Clean Up

Normally the City Park Clean Up is held on the 3rd Saturday in March. But with the brutal winter lingering the event was postponed until April 5.

The parks included:  Kingsbury, Latty Grove, Diehl, Fort Grounds, Pontiac, Triangle, Bronson, Riverside and the Reservoir.  Students from local high schools, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and church groups joined the local residents to tackle each park. 

Each year the participation increases!  This year over 330 volunteers worked to clean the parks.  The City Park crews maintained the trash cans and chip or hauled leaves and branches. This is an outstanding event with outstanding volunteers which makes it an outstanding success!

Sponsors for the T-shirts and food were provided by City Beverage, Moose Lodge, Servicemaster, Defiance Optimist Club and Defiance County Environmental Services KAB. Jody Doyle and Christy Brown (City Parks) coordinate this event every year.
